[DFO] Omniblade in Anton Raid

Hi again,
for same reason as before,
in this post, I will talk about Omniblade (Blade Master).
This post will assume that you know the raid monster's patterns.
Keep in mind that what you will read are suggestions, not answers.


1. Role in raid


Omniblades can have two positions.
Holder, or physical dps.
It is relatively easy for Omniblades to be a holder and p.dps at the same time,
so in this post, I will focus on how to hold & damage at the same time.

Omniblade's major holding skills are 1st and 2nd awakening skills
(Ultimate Slay: Tempest, Telekinetic Swords).
Therefore, you should think twice before using the skill,
and think of when and where to use your skills beforehand.

Omniblades will be sent to anywhere but naval.


2. Essential skills

Skills differ from person to person,
but here are some skills that you must have.

2.1. Rapid Weapon Switch, Deft Grip



Quick weapon switching is important in Durable Leg (explained below).


2.2. Ultimate Slay: Iron Strike


This skill is very important,
because it decreases monster's physical defense.
Master is a must, not a choice.
Do not learn Ultimate Slay: Tempered Iron unless you are the solo damage.



3. Items

There are two ways to get into raid for Omniblades.
One, get supporting items and go as holder.
Two, get damage items and go as p.dps & holder.


3.1. Weapons


For supporting, anything that levels up Ultimate Slay: Iron Strike is fine,
so Lv.85 Halidom Lightsabre is used.

For damage, pretty much the best weapon you have will be it...

Important thing is that you have to have at least one Short Sword.
(Unequipping weapon also works, but for convenience)


3.2. Sub equipment, and others


To support, any item that increases Ultimate Slay: Iron Strike is good.
Also, any items that increases party members' stats are good.
Lv.85 Halidom Light Armor 4 sets are used often.

To damage, Gracia 6 or better gears are expected.
Make sure to get Attack Damage Increase (Smash), 
and Critical Damage Increase (Crit. Smash).


4. Detailed know-how


4.1. Source of Black Smoke


First monster is Tog.


There is not really a thing to do here,
except attacking it constantly to apply Ultimate Slay: Iron Strike.

You can use Omnislay: Shooting Star to dodge the twisters or cancel Tog's attacks.



Boss is Annihilator Nerbe.


There are two ways to do Nerbe,
no orb, or after orb.

If your party decides that orb is not needed, 
Use Telekinetic Swords before entering the boss room,
and when you enter boss room, use it again to hold Nerbe immediately.

If your party decides to kill Nerbe after orb,
go into boss room, see the orb pattern, 
then use Telekinetic Swords to hold Nerbe.

When Telekinetic Sword is used, 
especially if you hold Nerbe immediately,
Nerbe will cast the circle pattern.
Do not be afraid.

Use Illusion Sword Dance, Omnislay: Mind's Sword,
and then Ultimate Slay: Tempest.
By that time, Telekinetic Sword's hold will be about to end.
Using Ultimate Slay: Tempest holds Nerbe further & dodges the circle pattern.
(Do not press X while Ultimate Slay: Tempest, you want to hold as long as you can)

When you land, use Wave Wheel Slasher to hold for a little more.

4.2. Shaking Battleground


Omniblades can make Shaking Battleground very easy.

In the left room is Doom Plagnus.



When you enter the room, use Telekinetic Swords.
Then Doom Plagnus will jump.
When he falls down, see if he grabbed anyone.
If he did not, use Telekinetic Swords again to hold him.
Then approach him to damage with Illusion Sword Dance, 
Omnislay: Mind's Sword.
After that is finished and Doom Plagnus is not dead
(Still being held by Telekinetic Sword),
Use Omnislay: Shooting Star to hold him a little longer.

You have to press X during Shooting Star to shoot the stunning blade.

Right room is Doom Taiorik.


Taiorik hold is important,
because if you leave him alone for just a moment,
he will cast bunch of skills that makes your life miserable.

As soon as you enter the room,
use Raging Dragon Slash once to get in front of him.
Then immediately use Ultimate Slay: Tempest to hold him.
When Tempest is over, 
use Wave Wheel Slasher and Shooting Star to hold him further.

4.3. Durable Leg


First named monster is Flame Krave.

Use basic attacks, Upward Slash, Wave Wheel Slasher, and Charge Crash
to put zombies into circles.
(I find it most easy to use Wave Wheel Slasher)

When Krave's casting is done, 
look around to see if there are any missing zombie spots.
If there is, quickly switch to Swort Sword (or un-equip your weapon), 
and use Omnislay: Mind's Sword.
Short Sword Mind's Sword pulls the monsters in front of your character,
so you can fix a zombie spot.


(This is why Rapid Weapon Switching is needed,
to quickly change weapons)

After that, there isn't much to do,
use whatever skills you like to damage Krave.


Next named monster is Gatekeeper Kratek.


Kratek is the single monster that Omniblades can't do much about.
Because it is building-type monster,
and Omniblades only have two holdings skills for building type.
(Telekinetic Swords, and Omnislay: Shooting Star)
But since Telekinetic Swords has to be saved for Agnes,
we can only use Omnislay: Shooting Star here.

As soon as you enter the room,
Dash up to Kratek,
and use Omnislay: Shooting Star.


This will hold Kratek for about a second.
After that, there is not much can be done, holding wise.
Keep damaging Kratek with skills such as
Raging Dragon Slash, Illusion Sword Dance ... etc.


Boss is Brilliant Flame Agnes.


You will have to kill illusions of Agnes first.

When illusions appear, use Ultimate Slay: Tempest
to hold & gather the two.
Then. use skills such as Charge Burst, Raging Dragon Slash,
Lightning Draw Sword to kill the illusions.

Important thing to remember is that 
your Telekinetic Sword has to be on when the illusions are dead.

What I suggest is,
for illusions,
after finishing Ultimate Slay: Tempest,
Use Telekinetic Sword, and then start using Charge Burst and other skills.


Ultimate Slay: Tempest - Telekinetic Sword - Charge Burst - 
Raging Dragon Slash - Lightning Draw Sword

Then go up to Agnes.


After the illusions are dead,
Agnes will cast "eyes" on you.
When the casting is done, and the circle under Agnes is gone,
There is a small window of chance to hold Agnes.

Use Wave Wheel Slasher to initially hold Agnes.
Then, while Agnes is being hit with Wave Wheel Slasher,
use Telekinetic Swords again to further hold Agnes.
After that, damage Agnes with Illusion Sword Dance, Omnislay: Mind's Sword.
Then quickly use Omnislay: Shooting Star to hold Agnes further.


If you are unsure of the timing, 
Just use Omnislay: Shooting Star shortly before the circle is gone,
and keep on dropping stunning swords to Agnes.
When you confirm that Agnes is stunned, use Telekinetic Swords to continue holding.


4.4. Cutting Off Energy




Absorbent Egene is very easy,
if you know how to avoid hug & eye.

There are two jobs for you here.
One is to bait Egene,
and two is to cancel the eye pattern.
Have Telekinetic Sword ready before you enter the boss room.

What you should do for bait is,
when you enter the boss room,
walk up to in front of Egene,
turn around,
and use Wave Wheel Slasher on Tartan Warriors.

When you see Egene is baited,
trigger Telekinetic Sword to hold.
After that, Damage with Illusion Sword Dance & Omnislay: Mind's Sword,
and use Omnislay: Shooting Star to cancel the eye & further hold Egene.



Egene will not be held by Ultimate Slay: Tempest.


1st Hatchery is Lava Monster Worm.


There is nothing special that needs to be done here,
Just use any damage skills you like.
If you think your party is weak,
Use Telekinetic Sword or Omnislay: Shooting Star to hold Worm just a little longer.
(You have to use those skills little before the Worm is un-stunned)


2nd Hatchery is Meltadorok.



Nothing Special needs to be done here, as well.
You can use Telekinetic Sword or Omnislay: Shooting Star
to increase the time of vulnerability.


3rd Hatchery is Grinder Atol.


When you enter Atol's room, use Telekinetic Sword.
Then, 1p will go into the circle of Atol,
locking you in a shard.

When you are locked and Atol is spawned, use Telekinetic Sword again
to hold Atol & apply Ultimate Slay: Iron Strike.



4th Hatchery is Fearsome Spiritual Residue.


Same as the other hatchery monsters,
nothing special needs to be done.
Use any skills you want to kill Residue.


Infected Hatchery

There will be Power Arm Kuro
And Black Fire Rok.



When you enter, give about 2 seconds.
Kuro and Rok will start walking towards you.
Then, use Ultimate Slay: Tempest to hold the two.
After that, use Omnislay: Mind's Sword to hold further.
(Illusion Sword Dance can be used in between)




4.5. Black Volcano


First named monster is Kres of Black Smoke.


Kres is easy to hold.
just use Ultimate Slay: Tempest.
and then, Wave Wheel Slasher can be used to hold it a little more.

Next named monster is Magtonium 5.


Before entering the room of Magtonium 5,
use Telekinetic Sword.
As soon as you enter,
trigger Telekinetic Sword to hold Magtonium 5.

Then damage with Illusion sword Dance, Omnislay: Mind's Sword,
and Omnislay: Shooting Star to hold further.

Omnislay: Mind's Sword - Omnislay: Shooting Star


Abyssal Medel is next.



Use either Wave Wheel Slasher or Omnislay: Shooting Star to hold.


You will not have any other holding skills left, unless you died and revived.
After using Omnislay: Shooting Star,
Keep on attacking Medel with many multi-hits,
so that Medel stays down (or up in the air).
This gives more time for the party to kill Medel.


Boss is Omnipotent Mateka.



Wave Wheel Slasher is best at pulling the orbs.

For Blood (血) pattern,
do not hold Residue.
Only use skills that does not hold Residue.

For Ground (土) pattern,
When all the orbs are put in and Mateka is up on the air,
use Telekinetic Swords.
And when Meltadorok is spawned,
trigger Telekinetic Swords to hold it immediately.

Other two are easy, nothing special needs to be done.

For 2nd Phase, use Omnislay: Shooting Star to hold initially,
and use Ultimate Slay: Tempest.
