[DFO] Saint in Anton Raid

I see many people reading and finding it helpful.
Thank you all for reading.
In this post, I will talk about Saint (Crusader).
Keep in mind that what you will read are suggestions, not answers.
What I write is the minimal requirement for the Saint to enter raid.

1. Role in raid

Saint is the supporter.
It gives many useful buffs to the party.
I will focus talking about how to buff & what else to do.

Saints will be sent to anywhere.

2. Essential skills

In previous two posts, I just put 2 skills as essential.
But this list is going to be long.

2.1. Strike, Wisdom Blessing, Blessing of Dawn

These skills increase your party's stats, master is a must.

2.2. Grace of Protection, Aura of Conviction, Ascension

These increases your stats
(Aura of Conviction also increases party member's stats),
and therefore, your buff gets better. Master required.

2.3. Sign of Protection, Heaven's Melody, Heaven's Harnomy, Fountain of Life

These skills increase chance of party member's survival.
Master is necessary.

2.4. Divine Invocation

Divine Invocation increases party members' STR/INT a lot.
Must Master!

2.5. Apocalyse

Aka Apoc, it increases STR/INT and other stats of party members.
Very important.
Try to prepare some gears that levels up Apocalypse.

2.6. Divine Flash

Resets buff durations of a party member.
At least 1 is required.

2.7. Thunder Hammer: Jupiter

Hammer shreds light resistance of monsters.
It is also useful in Durable Leg.

There are many skills that Saints need
(Holy Sanctuary, Spear of Victory, ... etc)
But the skills above are the most essential skills.

3. Items

Saint needs many items.

3.1. Vow of Silence

Vow of Silence 9 pieces boosts Divine Invocation.
MUST HAVE.

3.2. Silent Prayer

Silent Prayer 3 set is very good to have,
as it boosts Strike and Wisdom Blessing.

Also, if you noticed,
Vow of Silence 6 set boosts Strike and Wisdom Blessing as well.
By Mixing Vow 6 + Prayer 3,
you get optimal Strike & Wisdom Blessing boost.

3.3. Weapon

You need Lv.85 Halidom Weapon,
for Apoc and Ascension + many other skills.

Then, you need any weapon that increases Divine Invocation.
Priest's Judment would be the cheapest option.

3.4. Other items

Any items that increases Divine Invocation or Apocalypse is good to have.
(Or stat boost)
I will talk about how to use them below.

4. Detailed know-how

4.1. How to buff

I will talk about the most simple way to give buffs.

When you enter the dungeon, you should be wearing:

Vow of Silence 6 pieces
Silent Prayer 3 pieces
Lv.85 Halidom Cross

Use Ascension first.

Then, starting with Sign of Protection,
use your buff skills to stack up Ascension.
DO NOT activate Ascension, just use it once for stacks.

*Ascension stack: when you buff party members,
or hit monsters with specific skills,
you get Ascension stacks.
Ascension stacks increase your VIT/SPR.

It's good if you stack up to the limit,
but it's okay if you don't.
Just stack up to around 40, and then change your gears to:

Vow of Silence 9 set
Divine Invocation weapon
Lv.50 Halidom Plate Top (or other stat-boost item)

for Divine Invocation.

That is the end of the buff.
After that, keep using Divine Flash to party members to reset their buffs.
Also, you can change your equipments to items to support your party members.

For Apocalypse setting,
just wear everything that increases Apocalyse Level & your stats.

Your buff's effect depends on VIT/SPR stats.

4.2. Source of Black Smoke

Buff up in the first room,
keep resetting buffs of party members,
and do not forget to apply Fountain of Life to dps.

At the room before the boss, Annihilator Nerbe,
change your gears to Apocalypse setting,
and Apoc on Boss.

Your party might/might not see orbs.

4.3. Naval Cannon Defense

Buff up in the first room.
When you enter the next room,
keep your eye on the clock.

It's important not to use cubes when the guardians are up,
and there is an easy way to tell when the guardians are spawning.

When you enter the second room,
look at the clock.
On the picture above, it says 36:57.

Guardians spawn every 50 seconds.
Therefore, you can just add +10 seconds to the last 2 digits,
and predict the guardian spawn time.
For example, the clock above says 57,
so the spawning times are going to be 07,17, and 27.
(36:07, 35:17, 34:27)

Keep on reminding your party members those numbers.
Keep resetting buffs,
and use Deflection Wall to keep off monsters from Naval Cannon.
(Bloody Baptism 6 set comes in handy)

When the guardian appears,
make sure not to use any cubing skills.
If you are unsure of what those skills are,
I recommend just keep using Deflection Walls and nothing else.

If you get used to the timing,
try using Apocalypse about 2 seconds before the guardians appear.

4.4. Shaking Battleground

Buff up in the center room.
Apocalypse is recommended to use at the right room,
to Doom Taiorik.

You can activate Ascension at the left room (if you still have it)
to dodge Doom Plagnus's attacks.

4.5. Durable Leg

Buff up in the first room,
and get your Jupiter Hammer out.
Do not forget to keep resetting buffs.
Do not use Revenge of Light here,
because it might kill the party members in the boss room.

Then, go into Flame Krave's room.

Normally, Saints control the top 2 zombies.
Just use Giant Weapon Launcher, Spear of Victory, and Deflection Wall
to keep zombies into place.

Spear can push standing zombies,
Deflection Wall can push downed zombies,
and Giant Weapon Launcher can down the zombies that stood back up.

In Gatekeeper Kratek's room,
Use Holy Sanctuary and Sign of Protection often.

In the boss room, there is Brilliant Flame Agnes.

but you have to deal with the illusions first.

Before entering the boss room,
change your gears to Apocalypse setting.

When the illusions appear,
Use Smasher or Spear of Victory to gather the two illusions,
and keep hitting it with Jupiter hammer.

When the illusions are dead,
go up to Agnes,
and use Apocalypse.

The job is not done yet.
In case your party members can't finish Agnes in time,
look for the squirrels.

These squirrels cast skills that heals Agnes/ Damages party members.
It is Saint's job to stop those squirrels.
Use Smasher to cancel Squirrel's castings.

If your Smasher is on cooldown,
just keep hitting the squirrels.
When it takes enough hits, it will stop the casting.

4.6. Cutting Off Energy

Decide who is going to bait in your party.
If you are required to bait,
Do not use Ascension in the first room.
Just buff the party members without it,
and use Ascension in the room before the boss room.
You can re-buff party members with Ascension stacks.

Or, if that is not the case,
Just buff up as usual.

Baiting Absorbent Egene is easy.

Here is what you have to do:
Change your gears to Apocalypse setting in the room before Egene.
When you enter, use Apocalyse.
Then, just dash up in front up him,
and activate Ascension.
You will rise, and Egene will be baited.

In all the hatcheries,

just use Apocalypse to the named monster.
If you go to Infected Hatchery,
Decide if you will Apocalypse on Kuro & Rok or the named monster.
Use Smasher & Spear of Victory to help gather Kuro & Rok.

4.7. Black Volcano

Buff up in the first room.
Normally, your party will want you to use Apocalypse on Medel.
Before entering room of Abyssal Medel,
Switch up Apocalypse setting.

For Omnipotent Mateka,
I find it most easy to use Smasher to pull orbs.

Do not forget to reset buffs,
and keep applying Fountain of Life to party members.

When it is 2nd phase, Apocalypse,
and help the dps kill Mateka.

5. End

Thanks for reading.
I'm not exactly an expert at Saint,
but if there is any questions, feel free to ask.

  1. Small note: be sure not to use Hammer of Repentance on Nerbe; players can't intercept orbs while Nerbe is Repented.
